The portrait of Lance Armstrong in action. The canvas material consist of cheap packaging material (bubble wrap) which is in itself already a reference to the cheap way in which naïve supporters are “wrapped”.
Each bubble was carefully injected with the appropriate color of acrylic paint by means of injection needles. This way a portrait developed from hundreds of pixels. “To lance the bubble” means “to burst the bubble”.
All resemblance with pointillism is intirely coincidental…
